SHILOH UCC - WIFI
Shiloh UCC now offers Wi-Fi access to its members and guests. Why is Shiloh UCC doing this? It’s most simply about hospitality. Most Americans own smartphones and it is no longer simply a phone. The smartphone, with its Wi-Fi capabilities, allow us to access educational resources, follow the news, access happenings in our local community, or communicate with social media. This is especially true among younger Americans.
It is welcoming to allow Shiloh UCC guests access to our internet and Wi-Fi. Our members and guests can access the internet to read the bible passages referenced during our Sunday Worship. Our ministers and staff can use the wealth of resources available on the internet to educate our parishioners. Community groups utilizing our Church can use our internet to aid its members.
Wi-Fi also allows our members the ability to interact with the community. We can use social media to tell others about our church activities or to share parts of the service that were especially meaningful to them. It is also a service to the community to allow internet access to those that might not have access in their homes while they are utilizing our Church
Of course, we have taken every effort to keep our internet network secure. The guest network is separate and sheltered from the secure network in the Church office. Guests are also asked to agree to the terms of the network prior to joining.
Next time you are in our church, log on to ‘ShilohUCC’ and access our Wi-Fi.
The Safety Health Ministry Committee strives to raise awareness for a healthy lifestyle for Shiloh UCC members and the surrounding community. A Walking Group has been formed and will meet Mondays @ 9 a.m. and Wednesdays @ 7 p.m. at Sunset Lane Park to walk. All ages are welcome! Please join us! Walking is an activity that most people of all ages can participate in for heart health.

COMING UP IN JUNE!
On Pentecost Sunday, June 4, we will be filling the sanctuary with red geraniums. Red is the liturgical color of the day and represents the tongues of flame in which the Holy Spirit descended on the first day. If you would like to make a $5 donation toward these geraniums please mark this on your offering envelope. Any contributions left over will be donated to the Soup Kitchen Fund. The geraniums will be planted around the church building. We are also asking everyone to wear RED for worship that day.
