Sally and Crosby Johnson serve Jesus Christ through the ministry of Harvest Tabernacle Church in Limon, Costa Rica. A Pennsylvanian’s contacts and organizational skills combined with a Costa Rican’s knowledge of construction works, native language, and native culture provides God with a special opportunity to heal the poorest of God’s poor children.

Shiloh UCC has been the primary support for the ministry of Limon and a large contributor to their missions. Through our support we are able to serve the needs, both educational and appearance of the children of Harvest Tabernacle and Pueblo Nuevo. We have provided ongoing tutoring for these in need, along with providing the educational tools needed to attend public school in Costa Rica. Dresses were made and additional clothing was gathered and delivered to help keep the children in new or newer clothing.

We continue to reach those who needed help with food through Crosby’s food bank and farm.

Our support has enabled five crews (CREW) to travel to Costa. Each CREW has been able to assist in reaching out into the local community to provide food, shelter and clothing, much of which Shiloh UCC’s generosity has provided. The CREW experience has made a conscientious decision to reach out to the community and provide them with some of the things we take for granted: Clean drinking water, roofs over our heads, food to eat, and clothing to wear. CREW VI will be leaving July 2009 to continue this hands on ministry.

The Friends of Limon are dedicated to increasing our awareness and giving our time, talents and money to continually disadvantaged lives.
