Our Daily Soup Kitchen
Our Daily Bread was established in 1983 by the nine Catholic Churches of York County, in cooperation with the local Catholic Charities. Now some 63 churches and civic groups have been recruited to participate in supplying and serving hot casseroles of food and cleaning up after the meals have been served to those in need without any eligibility requirements.
Once a month several volunteers from Shiloh UCC prepare the food, and on the following day they provide volunteers to serve and prepare meals at Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen. All ingredients are purchased by the church. Church members also share Christmas cookies with the soup kitchen on an annual basis.

The Soup Kitchen Crew needs volunteers to prepare spaghetti and serve lunch one day a month at Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen in downtown York. Shiloh UCC is one of many local churches that support Our Daily Bread by supplying and serving food to those in need. Volunteers are needed to serve lunch on the third Thursday of the month, and we prepare spaghetti the day before. The Soup Kitchen Crew is asking for donations of wrapped candy (i.e. any snack-sized wrapped candy or mini candy canes). Please put candy donations in the boxes labeled “Soup Kitchen” in the church Gallery or kitchen. The deadline for donations is Sunday, December 11. We will fill small gift bags with the candy and distribute them at Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen in December. Thank you for your support!
